He said that the PDP would support its Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar in his quest to “reclaim his mandate,” following his decision to go to court to contest the outcome of the polls.

He said, “The caucus noted the role of the military in the February 23 election and resolved that we will report the action of the military through a petition to UN as well as other global democratic institutions on the role of our military intervention in the Feb 23, general election.

“Caucus further raised issues about the harassment, intimidation and cajoling of our members on the plot by president buhari as well as All Progress Congress, APC to intimidate Atiku Abubakar and the resolve of the PDP to go to court by insisting, blackmailing and saying that he should not go to court. We insist that our party and our candidate have resolved to seek legal redress on the stolen mandate.”

According to him, the party also thanked Nigerians for the refusal of intimidation and militarisation of the electoral process and participating in the election but noted that the mandate that was freely given to our candidate was stolen and as such, the party and the candidate jointly resolved to go to the tribunal and reaching the end of what is permissible within our legal system to get back our mandate on behalf of Nigerians.”

He Added, The party, according to the publicity scribe, also resolved to appeal the judgement of the Federal High court sitting in Kano which nullified the candidacy of the PDP governorship flag bearer, Abba Yusuf. The party further decried the “militarisation of the South-South and the rigging which the APC is plotting ahead of the election,” even as it urged Nigerians to come out enmasse and participate in the governorship elections.

See What Atiku Wants To Use Against Buhari In Court – Can This Help Him Win?

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar is confident of victory when he formally institutes an election petition case against President Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Several wide-rang available of video evidence has been gathered to back up his claims of non-voting, voter intimidation, ballot box snatching and destruction, illegal vote cancellation and deliberate voter disenfranchisement.

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Professor Mahmood Yakubu, declared Buhari the winner of the election.

However, Atiku and his party members has rejected the result, alleging of the suppression of votes in his strongholds, which he therefore consequently rejected “the result of the February 23, 2019 sham election” and vowed to challenge it in court.

“We’re going to court; that’s the major thing we can do now except we’re looking towards chaos, and nobody wants chaos,”

“He said, There’s a lot wrong with the election figures. Cancelled votes in Kano were over 2million; then the difference between accredited voters and actual voters is over 700,000 there as well, which shows there are a lot of discrepancies in the figures. We are still working with some of the documents, and I know that for like three days they’ve been gathering more and more.”

He also said a lot of the claims being made by Atiku and the PDP were backed up by video tapings, as the party prepared in advance for the rigging by sending agents with hidden cameras to the field.
“There are a lot of videos, of course, because there were body cameras on some of the agents that went to the polling units and ward collation centres,” he said.

“Those ones will be tendered as evidence; and there are some other ones I won’t want you to be privy to for now.

“Atiku has set forth to go to the Supreme Court, so he is not even thinking of the tribunal.
Of course we’ll start with the tribunal but we know that once the tribunal gives a judgement, the President will definitely appeal against it if the judgement is against him.

The game plan Atiku has given us is for the Supreme Court. He is going all out; he is going totally for it. Atiku is not someone that will start something and will stop halfway without seeing it off till the very end. He’s going all out.”

During his first mandate, a group called The Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) had claimed several attacks on oil infrastructure.
In February, the NDA warned that “strike teams are active and gallantly waiting to receive instructions from the high command to cripple the Nigerian economy again” if Buhari won the election.

PDP denies Allegation of Demands from APC to Concede Defeat.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has denied making any demands of the President, following his declaration by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the winner of the Presidential election.

In a statement by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, accused the Presidency and the All Progressives Congress (APC) of an attempt to blackmail the party.

He wrote, The fabrication being peddled by the Buhari Presidency and the APC that the people’s candidate, Atiku is making some demands of President Muhammadu Buhari, is an absolute falsehood and outright lies.

The PDP states categorically, without mincing words, that Atiku Abubakar had not, and will never, make or accept any condition from President Buhari regarding the rigged February 23, 2019 Presidential election, which he Atiku clearly won.

The Buhari Presidency and the APC know that their electoral robbery cannot stand before any noble justices and are now attempting to use all sorts of blackmail and shenanigans to derail the quest by Nigerians to reclaim the stolen mandate at the tribunal.

However, let it be known to President Buhari and the APC that Atiku and the PDP are standing shoulder to shoulder with Nigerians in this collective determination to take back the stolen mandate and we are not ready for any form of negotiation with anybody on this matter.

Our party and candidate remain committed to the huge sacrifices made by Nigerians in ensuring our collective victory as delivered at the polling units across the country

We have all the authentic results from all the polling units as well as forensic evidence of manipulations by the APC and INEC We will bare them all at the tribunal and the court will give justice to Nigerians.

We shall devote every energy necessary to reclaim our mandate and have Atiku declared President, in line with the will of the people as delivered at the polling units on February 23, 2019.

Anything short of this is not acceptable & no amount of false reports, connivance, contrivance, harassment & fresh attacks on our leaders, including the DG of our Campaign,
Bukola saraki, whose residence was besieged by security agents last night, can alter this resolve.

Okorocha’s Son-in-Law, Uche Nwosu Faces Disqualification

The Nigeria Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has been urged to disqualify Governor Rochas Okorocha’s son-in-law and annointed successor, Uche Nwosu from participating in the forthcoming governorship election in Imo State.

This is sequel to an application brought by the Action People’s Party (AA) against Nwosu for multiple nomination by two different political parties.

The court has directed the plaintiff to serve Nwosu the originating process to come and show cause why he should not be disqualified from further participation in the Imo gubernatorial election.

According to the papers filed before the court and sighted by our correspondent, in October 2018, Nwosu had submitted his All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination form to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the candidate for the party in the 2019 Imo State governorship election.

Uche Nwosu further submitted two valid court orders made by High Court of FCT, Abuja and Federal High Court, Owerri, recognising him as the authentic candidate for the APC in the Imo governorship election.

While he continued to hold on to his nomination as APC candidate as ordered by the court, Nwosu submitted another nomination form to the Independent National Electoral Commission to the effect that he had been nominated by the Action Alliance as its candidate for the 2019 Imo governorship election.

According to some senior lawyers who spoke with our correspondents, by the provision of Section 37 of Electoral Act 2010 (As Amended), multiple nomination such as the one done by Nwosu leads to automatic disqualification of the candidate. The lawyers opined that it is a serious infraction of the Electoral Act which attracts a penalty of disqualification of such candidate by INEC.

The lawyers stated that the case of Nwosu is similar to that of Uju, Kingsley Chima, that was disqualified by INEC as a candidate for Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta OruWest federal constituency for multiple nominations by both Action Alliance and Democratic Alternative.

The lawyers stated that even if INEC refuses to disqualify Nwosu before the election, in the event such candidate is declared winner, the court will still nullify the election as was done in the case of Governor Aliyu, Magatakarda Wamako, whose election was nullified by the Court of Appeal for having both the ANPP and PDP nomination in violation of the provisions of Electoral Act. They opined that as soon as this is proved and brought to the attention of INEC, Nwosu will stand automatically disqualified.

It is therefore very likely that Nwosu might not be eligible to stand for the election on March 9, 2019, and the battle will be between main contenders such as Senator Hope Uzodimma of the APC, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha of the PDP and Senator Ifeanyi Ararume of the APGA.

Section 37 of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended) provides that where a candidate knowingly allows himself to be nominated by more than one political party and or in more than one constituency, his nomination shall be void.
